The Florida Institute
of Technology proudly offers both an online and on campus four course Academic Certificate in Security Management in partnership
with the Security Policy Institute taught by Dr. Michael Workman.
Dr. Workman came to academic life
in 2001 with nearly thirty years of experience in the computer industry where he began as a software engineer, then moved
into management and executive management (including CTO) with companies such as Digital Equipment Corp, Openware, Unisys,
Alltel, NETCommerce, Bank of America, and France Telecom where he was in charge of the global network security operations
with groups located in London, Paris, and Nice. He remains active as an information security consultant and has published
over 30 research studies and two textbooks on various aspects of security. Prior to coming to Florida Tech, Michael was a
professor of information systems at the Florida State University.
Each 4- week course presents practical laboratory
exercises. Completion of the certificate program is capped off with a Comprehensive Examination for a CINSec® Certificate
in Security Management (12 CEUs).
